Healthier, happier learning - the Schools4Life programme
Schools4Life is supporting children and young people and their families to raise aspirations, encourage learning, make healthy choices and live healthier, happier lives, using effective school leadership.
Recognising the intrinsic link between health and academic attainment, Schools4Life enables schools, parents and communities to play an active role in meeting children and young people's wider needs. It is supported by rigorous organisational and social change models which enable schools to implement effective management processes: the Wellbeing Foundation Tool and 'Stela' behaviour change framework (scope, test, enact, learn/act)
Schools4Life is the future for health and wellbeing in schools - it builds on Healthy Schools specific outcomes, but is free from national criteria - so schools can prioritise their work locally, while still accessing nationally shared best practice and resources.
It is a new, distinct partnership which approach focuses on the needs of the whole school community, including children and young people in challenging circumstances, and supports schools' Ofsted inspections and parental engagement. Indeed the Wellbeing Foundation Tool and 'Stela' behaviour change framework are actively helping schools prepare for Ofsted.
